Our partners at Exeter City Community Trust pulled a blinder and arranged for us to photograph some of the footballers from both the men and women’s first teams. They joined us at one our Alright Mate? events at the football ground in January 2023 to have their portraits taken using wet plate photography and shared their thoughts to get men talking about their mental health.

We turned the portraits into unique sports cards to promote the message ‘being open and vulnerable is damn okay!’. These were launched alongside our beer mats as part of a men’s mental health awareness raising campaign to 6,400 football fans at Exeter Football club. It was a memorable day and a proud moment for Alright Mate? watching our work scroll across the big screen whilst the players were warming up for the match.
